Lewis Latimer was apart of patenting some historic inventions.In 1876  Latimer started working at Alexander Graham Bells patent law firm. where Latimer drafted drawings of bells telephone so it could receive a patent.Around 1879 he started working for an electric lighting company . Then in January  1881 he received a patent that was for the production of the filaments that are used in light bulbs.
